Nadaan Parinde's cast and crew celebrate completion of 100 episodes

Life OK’s Nadaan Parinde, produced by Scaling Heights Productions has recently gotten a new lease of life with the channel deciding to give an extension to the show, rather than ending it. As reported, the show was to shut on 5 September. However, the decision was revoked by the channel.
Now the cast and crew of the show had a whale of a time celebrating the completion of 100 episodes in Chandigarh. All of them assembled on set to cut the cake, and celebrate the moment. And for the Producers Imtiaz Punjabi and Chokkas Bhaardwaj, the moment was indeed very special as their dream of making a realistic show in Chandigarh, far away from the comfort of shooting in Mumbai came true with the first milestone being achieved.
A source from the set said, “The entire cast and crew was seen enjoying the moment. They cut a cake and rejoiced. However, lead actor Nikkhil Chaddha and Co-Producer Chokkas Bhaardwaj’s absence was notable. Nikkhil happened to be on leave, as he had some personal work in Mumbai. Chokkas too could not make it to Chandigarh as he was busy in a project of his in Mumbai.”
When contacted, Nikkhil told us, “Yes, I had some important work in Mumbai, so was on a leave when the team celebrated the completion of 100 episodes. It is a great feeling to have completed 100 episodes, as I take with me a lot of cherished memories.”
Gulki told us, “It is a great feeling, as this show has given me memories of a lifetime. Shooting away from home in Chandigarh, I have made a new home for myself. The story ahead looks very interesting with a lot od spice added.”
We could not get through to Karam Rajpal.
We wish the show all the luck!!

13th Indian Telly Awards: Vote Now- Best Ensemble Cast

A multistarrer in Bollywood is rarely puts the much desired spotlight on all actors present in the movie unlike the great Indian serials where everyone from the in-laws, cooks, maids to even watchmen get a pivotal role to play. An ensemble cast has always been the X factor of Hindi serials. Let’s check why the below five made it to the Best Ensemble category in The 13th Indian Telly Awards.
Diya Aur Baati Hum (Star Plus)
When a husband rallied around his wife’s career aspirations much against the wishes of his conservative family, the Indian television audience woke up to a new found social family drama not often seen on small screen. Coming from the coffers of Shashi Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt. Ltd, this socio-family drama throws spotlights on characters other than the leads played by Deepika Singh and Anas Rashid. The other important characters are Bhabho played by Neelu Vaghela, Meenakshi played by Kanika Maheshwari and Babasa (Ashok Lokhande) form an important fabric of this numero uno Star Plus show.

Spearheaded by Sphere Origins, Balika Vadhu has been one of Colors longest running shows spanning more than five years in duration. The story about child marriage has kept viewers hooked for years now. Though the ensemble cast keeps on changing, those stepping in have always lent credence to the storyline never letting anything go astray. Shashank Vyas, Sargun Mehta, Toral Rasputra and Siddharth Shukla play the lead ably supported by Anup Soni, Smita Bansal and veteran actress Surekha Sikri.
Mahabharat (Star Plus)
Swastik Production helmed Mahabharat garnered great TRPs especially during the time of Draupadi’s disrobing. Given the fact that all Pandavas and Kaurava brothers are important in the storyline, the spotlight never really shifted away from the actors who essayed the important mythological figures. Some of them were Shaheer Sheikh as Arjun, Saurabh Raaj Jain as Krishna, Pooja Sharma as Draupadi, and Praneet Bhatt playing the wily Shakuni.
Ye Hai Mohabbatein (Star Plus)
Despite the 11 pm slot, Balaji Telefilms has come out with a winner in the form of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein which explores the love story between Tamilian beauty played by Divyanka Tripathi and handsome Punjabi munda essayed by Karan Patel. Given that it’s an interstate love story, the supporting actors including Balaji favourite Anita Hassanandani and Sangram Singh and kid Ruhanika Dhawan too play an important part in this love drama.
So which show according to you has the Best Ensemble?

Even while shooting, we need to plan our shoot schedules according to the visarajan and aarti timings.

Jimmy Shergill's visit turned out to be spooky; while Mika Singh brought joy on the sets of FIR

Horror is back in business as unusual paranormal activity leaves the cast and crew of SAB TV’s FIR (Edit II Productions) horrified and helpless. While it may be common for Kavita Kaushik aka Chandramukhi Chautala from FIR to face new challenges in her everyday life and solve mysterious crimes in the city, the actress and the other crew members faced their moment of fright, during the recent visit of Bollywood actor, Jimmy Shergill during the promotion of his upcoming horror film Darr @ The Mall. The film releases in India on 21 February, 2014.
A source from the sets informs us that while Kavita and Jimmy were shooting for their sequence, the main door of the studio suddenly shut and locked. Although the crew and staff tried hard their best, they could not open the door. To add to the chaos, a technical snag rendered the set powerless. The subsequent power-failure rendered the set pitch dark with only the vocal sounds of people being heard.
This created a near panic situation as the enclosed atmosphere of the set started getting claustrophobic. Since the set was sound proof with limited air flow, even the mobile networks were unavailable when the set crew tried to call for help.
Just like the suddenness of the power failure, the power was restored and light was switched on as abruptly and unexpectedly. Even the studio door got unlocked on its own. The biggest surprise however was the fact that there was nobody outside who was responsible for this abrupt chain of events. Truly strange!
While speaking about the incident, Kavita Kaushik says, “Since we did a couple of horror based comedy plot in FIR in the past, the idea of promoting Darr @ The Mall went off pretty well.”
Soon after this spooky event a fun-filled episode took place on the sets of the same show with singing sensation Mika Singh paying a visit.
The star was on the sets to promote the rap version of the D-Day song Damadam Mast Kalandar.
We hear that the artist chose the sets of FIR to promote his rap song as the show is his all time favourite. He also stayed on the sets the entire day yesterday (19 February 2014).
When contacted actor Sandeep Anand, best known as Billu, he said, “It was fun to have Mika on our sets. We all had lots of fun with him.”
The episode will air sometime soon.

Meet Akshat Singh, Ellen DeGeneres' youngest guest

Yup, India’s got talent. 8 year-old Akshat Singh proved it by appearing on talk-show queen Ellen DeGeneres’ show in the US.
This week DeGeneres spotted Akshat on Colors’ India’s Got Talent and invited him to Los Angeles to be on her show.
The dazed boy left for LA on 13 February and recorded his dance item in front of the highly appreciative American hostess in Valentine’s Day.
Still in a state of disbelief Akhsat says, “I don’t know how all this happened. But someone called on my parents’ mobile and asked if I’d like to be on this lady’s show. Bas, aur kya? I left for America ready to dance.”
A Class 3 student from Kolkata, Akshat in all innocence, confesses he had never heard of Ellen DeGeneres. “Maine kabhi unka naam nahin suna ttha. But I got to know she’s very big. I was thrilled to be invited on her show. I don’t think anybody from India has ever danced for her.”
Akshat being a diehard Salman Khan danced his Sallu movements for Ellen.
“She loved my dancing. She wanted to know all about Salman Khan and I was happy to tell her. There were lots of Indians in the studio and they were all Salman fans. So I had fun. I ate Mexican food and got to meet nice people.”
The boy from Kolkata who says he began dancing 4 years ago, has come back from LA all praise for the no-nonsense Ellen DeGeneres. “She was very nice to me. I was a bit shy to begin with. She told me to call her ‘Ellen’. I was comfortable with her in no time at all. I loved dancing on her show. There were other overweight kids on the show. So I felt at home.”
His first visit abroad Akshat couldn’t get to see anything of the US. “I flew in with my parents. We just shot my dance and came back. But I travelled all over America in my dreams,” says the boy with big dreams. “What do I want to do when I grow up? I want to study hard. I want to dance all my life. I want to be many things. But most of all I want to be intelligent.”
You are a blessed child, Akshat. Way to go!!!

Kushal quit Fear Factor the minute he saw me and I am not here in Cape Town for Gauahar: Ajaz Khan

It seems Ajaz Khan has followed Gauahar Khan into Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi in Cape Town. And the temperature in the scenic South African city has soared to a simmering scorching high.
Apparently Kushan Tandon who was with his lady-love in Cape Town for Fear Factor quit in a huff the minute he saw his arch-rival from Bigg Boss in Cape Town, though it was said that Kushal quit over injury issues.
Confirming this from Cape Town Ajaz says, “When Kushal saw me in Cape Town he quit the show. His entire body was aching. Haath-pair dard ho gaye usskey. He had to leave.”
Ajaz also confirms that Gauahar too has threatened to quit the show when she saw Ajaz in Cape Town. “They are insecure about me or maybe they just don’t like me. What to do. Haters will hate the world. Lovers will find reason to love everyone.”
Ajaz denies being in Fear Factor to again establish proximity with her after Bigg Boss.
Protests Ajaz, “No, I am not here in Cape Town for Gauahar Khan. I don’t even talk to her anymore. Bigg Boss is over. The channel Colors wanted me to be part of this show and I am happy earning money for my family. I wish Allah would bless both Kushal and Gauahar.”
About his flash decision to rush for Fear Factor, Ajaz explains, “I decided to immediately leave for Fear Factor because the channel Colors is paying me good money to face my fears in the beautiful city of Cape Town.”
Then he adds mischievously, “I also get a chance to audition for Rohit Shetty’s Singham 3 in front of him.”
We wish Ajaz all the best!!!

'Truth potion' to bring out a lot of secrets in Channel V's Paanch

Truth is a dangerous weapon if not dealt properly and soon the gang of friends in Channel V’s popular Paanch- 5 Wrongs Make A Right (Sunshine Productions) will realise the same when an evil plan will be worked out by them to test (taste) the truth between them.
The wicked gang of Paanch, Gauri (Rashi Mal), Nihal (Shrey Pareekh), Roy (Kiran Srinivasan), Zara (Ronjini Chakraborty) and Nihal (Ashish Mehrotra) have been given the dose of their own medicine after the arrival of Roshini (Sheetal Singh), who wants to take revenge from them for her sister’s death.
But with such wicked minds, it’s definitely not an easy task to win over them and thus the viewers have seen Roshni struggling hard to fulfill her mission.
And now to add another tough step in her task, Gauri will decide to have some fun playing session with truth. She will get a ‘truth potion’ which she will force everyone to have. Then will begin a roller coaster ride with each of the friend wanting to know the darkest and deepest secrets of one another.
Gauri, who has found out about Roshni dating her brother, will throw the first question to the latter asking her whether she is with her brother to get close to her. Zara who is the most insecure among the lot would ask Gauri whether she will ever betray her. Roshni will then be stumped when Roy will ask whether she has been causing all these troubles and who exactly she is in real life.
When we quizzed Sheetal about this she said, “You will have to wait and watch what happens hereafter.”
This does seem quite a dramatic sequence and we are sure you guys are excited to watch it.

Khushi and Sankalp to honeymoon in Goa; the "mask" problem to haunt Khushi in Colors' Sasural Simar Ka

Be it Star Plus’ Saath Nibhana Saathiya or Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka, Producer Rashmi Sharma is known to create suspense around the characters in her show.
Hence, one can’t help but get curious about what will happen next in Sasural…
Bitten by the bug of inquisitiveness, we dug a little further to know what will happen to Khushi’s (Jyotsna Chandola) identity given the fact that her mask has been damaged (the mask helps her look like Sonia). And here is what we found.
For the uninitiated, Sonia (Shalini Sahulta) tore a portion of the mask during her encounter with Khushi. And though Bobby (Darling) tried helping Khushi fix it, they haven’t managed to solve the mask issue completely.
Unfortunately for Khushi the mask will face major damage this time.
We hear that Khushi and Sankalp (Aryamann Seth) will soon go to Goa for their honeymoon where Khushi will wreck the mask completely.
Would it mean mean that the truth will come out in the open?
Well, that’s something for the viewers to wait and watch.
When contacted Jyotsna she said, “Khushi and Jyotsna both are having mask issue (laughs). It’s been a bit of a problem carrying the mask for me. I have rashes all over my face. But, as far as the track is concerned I think you should just wait and watch.”
We will keep updating you on more.

Comic star Ashiesh Roy to play a serious role in Director Kunal Deshmukh's next movie

Theatre actor Ashiesh Roy is best known for playing the hero's goofy neighbour Chatur Ganguly in Eagles Film’s sitcom Jeannie Aur Juju. But now the popular comedian is all set to move away from his comfort zone for his debut on the big screen.
In Kunal Deshmukh's next starring Emraan Hashmi, Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon, the comic actor has been signed to play a key character. And it's noteworthy that he will be playing a totally serious role, with no comic shades in it!
When contacted, Ashiesh was pretty tight-lipped about the project and his character in it. “I am contract-bound not to divulge details of the film.”
However on being probed further he stated. “I can tell you that it's a beautiful role, and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing it. I think it's going to surprise a lot of people who are used to seeing me only doing comedy.”
Ashiesh Roy says that he can't thank director Kunal Deshmukh enough for his film break. “Kunal could have taken any better known actor for this role. But he chose me after seeing my audition. And he has been patiently mentoring me about the fine nuances of acting on the big screen. I shall be eternally indebted to him for giving me my break in films.”
On being asked how it was pitting his acting skills against stalwarts like Paresh Rawal, Emraan Hashmi and Kay Kay Menon, Ashiesh simply said, "It is like a dream come true for me! I remember taking Pareshji's autograph at a restaurant about 15 years ago. And now, to be in a film with him is unbelievable! I just stared at him for the first few days of shooting! Watching him perform is a joy to behold. Pareshji is God. I touch his feet every day.”
About Emraan Hashmi, Ashiesh has nothing but high praise. "I'm a fan of the man," Roy says. "In my opinion, Emraan is perhaps the most under-estimated actor of this generation. I think he was brilliant in Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. Kay Kay is an old friend, and it did not seem to bother him a bit that this is my first film and probably his sixtieth! He was happy to spend most of his spare time with me drinking chai and discussing theatre, cinema and literature.”
Way to go Ashiesh!!!

Garima Jain to debut on 70mm with a Telugu film

The very pretty Garima Jain, who is currently seen in Sony TV’s Main Na Bhoolungi and Star Plus’ Mahabharat, has now pushed her career graph a notch higher by bagging a Telugu film. The actress who has earlier done Tamil movies was to make her debut in Telugu cinema opposite Uday Kiran, but Uday recently committed suicide leaving the girl’s dream in the lurch.
But later the girl was approached for a film that would be on the lines of Student of The Year. Playing the lead, the film will have college romance with competition as the main theme. Along with Garima, two handsome guys have been approached for the same.
When we called up the pretty girl she confirmed the news but refused to divulge further details.
The film will go on floors soon and is expected to release by end of this year.
We will soon update the space with more info.

Akshara to welcome her new mother-in-law in Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai

The aagyakari bahu Akshara (Hina Khan) will soon be seen welcoming her new saas in Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (Director’s Kut).
As seen earlier, both Akshara and Naitik (Karan Mehra) decided to get Raj (Sandeep Mehta) married again (after the death of her previous wife), and get him settled in life, bringing him out of a depressed state.
And as expected, the whole family went against their decision but both Akshara and Naitik, who have always managed to impart some social messages through the show, helped them accept the fact.
But then problems cropped up when they came to know that the new bride Devyani (Kshitee Jog) had two kids from her earlier failed marriage.
But the creatives of the show definitely know how to warm up to viewers by showing such topics as irrelevant in terms of a second marriage.
Thus, now in the upcoming episodes, Akshara will be seen getting Devyani and Raj married in a simple ceremony at a temple. And even though Naitik will be missing his mother and feeling that she is being replaced, he will try his best to accept the fact.
As for the child, Naksh (Shivansh Kotia), who has been close to his dadi, will be really angry finding that he is soon to get a new grandmother. He will now decide to trouble her so much that she would be forced to leave the house soon.
So what will Naksh be up to and will Akshara manage to get her mother-in-law settled in her house?
We tried reaching Hina but she remained unavailable.

Operation Salvage: Sunil Grover's Mad In India goes for a revamp

Following the disappointing inaugural episode of Sunil Grover’s comedy show Mad In India, the channel Star Plus and the show’s creators have gone into a frantic huddle to do some serious damage control.
The show, designed as Sunil Grover’s autonomous comedy show after his break with Comedy Nights With Kapil (Colors), seems to have hit all the false shrill notes from the word go. Taking serious note of the adverse reactions to the opening episode the makers of Mad In India have decided to make serious changes in the format.
Says a source close to the project, “The format is being changed. In trying to create a product removed from Comedy Nights With Kapil , Mad In India ended up without a proper identity.”
Apparently there were heated discussion within the Mad In India team regarding how strong and pervasive Sunil Grover’s presence should be in the show.
This is where the show’s creators erred in their judgement.
Says a source, “The show was marketed and promoted as Sunil Grover’s vehicle. In fact Sunil shot a lot more footage for the first episode. Close to 150 minutes of unedited content was filmed for Episode 1. When it was pruned down to 45 minutes of edited aired material a lot of Sunil Grover’s ‘Chutki’ material was gone.”
Seeing viewers’ under-whelmed response to the first episode the creators are busy revamping the show’s format to tilt the imbalance.
Says the source, “Grover ki bhi galti hai. He didn’t want to be the protagonist of the show. He wanted it to be an ensemble comedy show so he could share the platform with his colleagues. The show was split into two halves, a celebrity chat and the comic skits.”
Apparently the skits would now be increased to spotlight Grover’s presence on the show.
Sunil Grover concedes there is a sense of disappointment about his show. “But that also has to do with the heightened expectancy level. People expected too much from us. And yes I deliberately decided to downplay my presence on the show. That was a mistake. Because we advertised the show as my show. We’ve already shot Episode 2 with Govinda and Karisma. The changes will be apparent from the third episode.”
Apparently the third episode featuring Shilpa Shetty would have the svelte actress sharing makeup, beauty and cricket tips with Chutki.

Kunal Bakshi to feature in Life OK's Savdhan India

Kunal Bakshi, who was recently seen in Shapath and few other episodic stories, will feature in an upcoming episode of Savdhan India on Life OK. The story produced by Key Light Productions will revolve around a guy who will get back to resurrect the marital life of the girl he was earlier in love with.
Kunal will play an out and out positive role, that of Samarth who would be very much in love with a girl. However, the man would go out of her life when she would get married to another person. Years later, when Samrath will get to know of the marital problems that the girl faces, he would rightly come back and help her in her struggle.
When contacted, Kunal said, “This episodic is special because I play a very positive character in it. I will not talk much on the story, but can only tell you that this is an intriguing tale of a guy who goes to any extent to help her out.”
This episode will be aired on 21 February 2014.

Tonight, Smiley Suri and Amit Dolawat to feature in Vineet Bangera's dance extravaganza 'Bring It On'

Dance, they say is the hidden language of the soul. When words fail, dance communicates. Now, for the first time ever in the salsa fraternity, an event presenting the students (of salsa) in the biggest possible light will take place today.
Vineet Bangera’s Dance Central’s annual show featuring students of diversified ages, starting from as young as 17 years to 75 years will showcase their journey by telling a story through a spectacular way comprising of various dance forms such as salsa, bachata, ruetta, hip hop and Bollywood.
Trained and mentored under Vineet Bangera, who has been a renowned trainer and teacher for 15 years now, people should expect a spectacle when the students of Dance Central perform at Veer Sawarkar, Rashtriya Smarak, Opp. Shivaji Park, Dadar at 5.30 PM and 8.30 PM tonight, 19 February.
Tellychakkar.com talked to the man responsible for guiding the students to this extravagant event, Vineet Bangera who has travelled all around the world and has been instrumental in putting India on the dance map. “This event ‘Bring It On’ is unique as such an event has not been put in place ever in the salsa fraternity. A bunch of 40 of our students will be performing in this 90 minutes performance on stage. The students have gone through a lot of challenges in putting their best foot forward for the event. While all the students will perform on various dance forms, Amit Dolawat and Smiley Suri, our senior students will perform senior routines, which will be the highlight routine of the event.”
‘Bring It On’ – the title coined for the event aptly represents the various challenges the performers have encountered and have put in their sweat and blood to bring this event to the audience.
Says Vineet, “The title Bring It On was coined by our student and dear friend Smiley Surie who suggested that this very clearly expressed the attitude of students.”
Dance Central’s ‘Bring It On’ will host two shows tonight, one at 5.30 PM and the other at 8.30 PM. Each of the shows will accommodate close to 500 people. And as Vineet states, “We are almost near to houseful. Our second show is houseful while for the first to take place at 5.30 PM, is very near to houseful. We hope audience have an enjoyable time.”
Smiley says, “I am basically doing this event for Vineet who has given me a second lease of life with Dance Central. He is a great teacher and mentor, and I happened to meet him when I was in a low phase of my life. I have learnt so much from him, in his extremely professional school. Salsa is not an art form to pick up easily, and for me this dance form has been therapeutic too. This performance will be a return gift to my teacher Vineet.”
Actor Amit Dolawat who will be presenting the highlight routine of the event along with Smiley says, “After getting trained in ball room dancing for four years, I have been with Vineet for one and half years now, learning the nuances of salsa. He has been a great teacher and mentor, and it is now payback time, as we are doing this event for him. Smiley and I will be performing on Madonna’s most popular and controversial number ‘Vogue’. We have distinct make-up and look for the same.”
We wish the event a grand success!!!

Meiyang Chang and Tanya Abrol to fall in love in Yeh Hai Aashiqui

The makers of Yeh Hai Aashiqui, namely Lost Boy and BBC Worldwide Productions, have a creative bunch of people who strive hard to dole out one impressive and quality injected episode after another, and they certainly don’t adhere to the concept of bottle episodes.
Within their budgetary means, they stretch their creative and production value to the very last limit to achieve a certain degree of visual impact, which when experienced, leads to an expression of sheer awe and amazement.
The show airing on Disney Bindass, will soon see a romantic story which will be on the lines of a certain Romeo meeting Juliet but with a twist.
And what exactly is the twist we are talking about here? We will come to it but before that we would like to state that Meiyang Chang and Tanya Abrol will be seen playing the lead characters in the episodic.
Meiyang, owing to his oriental looks, will play the role of a sweet and charming Chinese boy, Jigme Lepcha. Tanya, on the other hand, will play a damsel in distress Punjabi kudi, Santosh.
As per the story, Santosh would belong to a family having too much muscle power. And owing to their forceful behavior, all her prospective grooms would take to the door.
During one such quirky wedding ceremony, Jigme will meet Santosh and the rest would be history.
We tried contacting both Chang and Tanya but they remained unavailable for comment.
The episodic will air sometime next month.

SAB TV to roll out new track titled ‘patthar’ in Lapataganj

SAB TV’s Lapataganj-Ek Baar Phir (Garima Productions) that traces the journey of a common man who struggles for his basic amenities yet lives a fulfilled life, is soon going to roll out a new track titled patthar (stone).
This track will deal with a situation where the caretakers of our country such as the army officers and the police will be seen torturing the local people in Lapataganj.
The reason behind their behavior would be their grudge on not getting leave from work and getting to spend time with their families.
We contacted Sucheta Khanna and Abbas Khan but they remained unavailable for comment.
When we contacted Rohitashv Gaur, he stated, “I cannot reveal details of the story as the track has not started as yet. But as each and every track presents an extremely good moral at the end this one will end similarly.”

Heroes - The Fight Back Files to premiere on Channel [V] from 23 February

Sexual harassment is a wide spread evil and the youth more than anyone else fall prey to this. Yet most of them feel too ashamed, too scared to speak up about and against sexual harassment. In order to give such youth a voice, to give them strength and courage and the support to stand up and call out their victimizers, Channel [V] will come up with a thought-provoking show 'Heroes - The Fight Back Files'.
Heroes – The Fight Back Files, which launches on 23 February at 7 PM is much more than a new show. It’s actually an ode to women who stood up against sexual harassment; it’s a call to action to many more such women who are victims of this evil, but out of fear and social pressure, stay mute.
A source tells us that Channel [V] has worked hard to track such real life stories of women who have fought back against sexual harassment and are using this show to tell their stories. The identities of these women will be protected, but there will be dramatic recreations of what happened to them and hoe they managed to stage a fight back. Through this show, we want our audience to feel that they are not alone, that this kind of harassment is prevalent everywhere but it can and should be dealt with.
The reason for calling the show Heroes is because of the hope, courage and strength these women have shown by not letting things pass. These women aren't victims at all but heroes, idols - people we all can look up to and learn from.
Talking about the new launch, Lavanya Anand, Content Head, Channel [V] told Tellychakkar.com, “Our first story takes place in a very familiar setting of a family wedding where the perpetrator is none other than the girl's own uncle. This is the story of how our heroine not just fought back against him but also managed to expose him to the rest of the family. We are very excited to place this show on Sunday at 7PM on Channel V, where it would be taking the time slot of Gumrah. Just like Gumrah we are hoping Heroes would have a special place in the heart of our audience and more importantly inspire and give them strength, hope and courage.”
Get ready for this interesting watch on Channel [V].

10 Skinniest Female Celebrities of Indian Television today

‘Dieting’, the word takes centre stage in the lives of celebs when they have to flash their sexy kamariya (waist) in public. But often, in an attempt to look sexy, many celebs smudge the thin line of difference between looking ‘slim’ and ‘skinny’. The size zero craze can often make celebs look anorexic or say skeletal.
Well, we are not here to judge what is good or what is bad, but here’s a fun feature on the 10 Skinniest Female Celebs of Indian Television today.
Sukirti Kandpal: This curly haired beauty has a sharp intellect thus; one can undoubtedly call her beauty with brains. But, she is also someone who has worked on her curvaceous body over these years. The beauty shed some weight to get into her current body (she was a bit plump during her Dill Mill Gayye days). And we must say that the slimmer avatar is working best for her as she looks gorgeous on-screen. Her current look also reflects the fact that she might be crazy about hitting the gym and staying fit.
Nia Sharma: She is someone who wouldn’t put on weight even if you pay her a bomb. Yes, the lady was quoted saying the same in an interview with Media. She simply loves size zero. Moreover as the artist is also learning belly dancing at the moment she likes keeping her kamariya a bit patli.
Krystle D’souza: This slim and tall actor can feature in the next ad of Indian Barbie dolls given her sharp features and that waist long hair. She is skinny, but the look suits her.
Sara Khan: The ever jolly Sara Khan has gone plump to slim in actual terms (all those who have seen her in Bidaai will agree with us). And we must admit that she is a beautiful woman today. However, the lady has worked extremely hard on herself and to get skinny and we must say that it has paid off well. She is not someone whom you can offer a tub of ice cream.
Pratyusha Banerjee: This Bengali bombshell has come a long way in her career from being known as Anandi to today being recognized by her own name. Similarly she has also lost on those extra kilos to get into the size zero race.
Vrushika Mehta: This D3 star belongs to the gang of the youngistaan artists who believe in staying on the tread mill till they feel fit. And we must admit that she does look pretty fit (wink).
Ratan Rajput: Ratan is someone that most actresses envy, as this lady has been slim all the while. But a little bit of weight would do good we guess.
Sanaya Irani: This star is famous and the credit goes to her beautiful figure that has been bagging her projects back-to-back. She is skinny, but sexy.
Charlie Chauhan: This pretty little thing is always at her slimmest best. And we think it’s the best for her beau Kunwar Amar as he’d never have an issue lifting her up in his arms.
Mrinalini Tyagi: This Pavitra Rishta star has the height, body and weight of a super model and we believe that she would have made a lot of extra bucks had she been on the ramp. But, she manages to put the audiences in a similar awww when they look at her on the small screen. Way to go lady!

Paakhi not to leave Anshuman in Life OK's Tumhari Paakhi

Though the love triangle between Anshuman (Iqbal Khan), Tanya (Madhura Naik) and Paakhi (Shraddha Arya) in Life OK’s Tumhari Paakhi (Shashi-Sumeet Productions) has turned out to be a typical one, some imminent interesting changes will distinguish it from the regular daily soaps.
As per the ongoing track, Anshuman tires to confront Paakhi about how he planned to humiliate her as a result of which she (Paakhi) would take a stand and return to her village.
But he is interrupted and has to take leave due to some official work. This is smoothly followed by Tanya (Madhura Naik) meeting Paakhi who tries to brainwash her image about Anshuman. Failing to fulfill the same, Paakhi ridicules Tanya and leaves.
The upcoming episodes will show how Anshuman will return to the spot where Paakhi was supposedly meant to wait for him and learn about Paakhi leaving the place. He would feel guilty of not being able to confront her with his negative plans that was to be directed at her.
Now following the filmy format of shows, viewers would expect Paakhi to drive down to her village followed by Anshuman who would convince her out of love after realisation of his mistakes.
Well, this certainly is not going to happen.
What awaits for the viewers would be something interesting as Girish (Sachin Shroff) will magically end up meeting Paakhi who would be sitting on a bench (on the road and probably chilling) and convince her to return home.
Paakhi will then decide to not leave Anshuman.
We tried to contact Shraddha but she remained unavailable for comment.
When we spoke to Sachin, he stated, “Well, if the protagonist of the show leaves, the show will come to an end. I cannot confirm whether Paakhi will retur to her village or will stay back, but whatever happens will be interesting to watch.”

Sony TV's ex-Boogie Woogie contestants to rock the stage

The upcoming episode of Sony Entertainment Television’s Boogie Woogie (R&N Productions) will be filled with nostalgia as contestants from the previous seasons of the show will grace the stage.
Talented dancers like Phulwa, Paresh, Rosa, Alisha, Pompi, Vaishnavi, Adil, Rituraj and Jigar will make a comeback of sorts as they will take the Boogie stage one more time to shake a leg with the contestants.
Judges Jaaved-Naved Jaffery and Ravi Behl will be delighted to meet the ex-contestants and glad that they will be sharing their expertise with the little dancing wonders. The entertainment quotient will be taken a few notches higher when the judges will also perform with the ex-contestants leaving the audience asking for more.
The episode will be aired on Sunday (23 February).

Meet Surinder Singh: The Music Director of Sony TV's Comedy Circus and Star Plus' Mad In India

The producers of Mad in India and Comedy Circus may be competing at the content front, but they definitely have something in common apart from the programming genre.
Wondering what is it?
Well, it is Music Director Surinder Singh Bharma.
Surinder gained popularity on the sets of Comedy Circus (courtesy the jokes being cracked on him). And now he has bagged another show in Mad In India.
Interestingly, though Surinder is a part of both the shows, he will continue being the face of Comedy Circus, as he stated, “Yes, I will be composing music for Mad in India too, but wouldn’t be a part of the band that will be in front of the camera. I have been the face of Comedy Circus and I will continue to be the same though my team will be working on Mad…”
When asked how different his composition would be for both the shows, he averred, “It is definitely very different, but let me tell you a basic fact. If I play brass on both the shows, they will sound similar for that’s how that instrument sounds. But yes I will try and create a variation.”
Way to go Surinder ji!

On her birthday, Vrushika Mehta thanks her fans for all the love and support

Well, birthdays come once in a year and that makes it all the more special. But there is someone who does not believe in this funda.
Yes, we are talking about the very popular Vrushika Mehta who is currently winning hearts playing the role of Sharon in Channel V’s Dil Dostii Dance.
Media decided to buzz this girl and learn her birthday plans. And we were rather surprised when Vrushika told us, “I am not someone who likes to celebrate birthdays. I do not stay awake till 12 midnight ever to ring in my birthday. In fact, this was the first time that I did it since people were calling and messaging me till late. It was completely a great feeling and something really new (laughs)."
So no celebrations late at night? “I am someone who likes sleeping early since I have to go for shoots early in the morning. But since I took an off today and people were giving me so much love and sending me their wishes through calls, I stayed awake. Birthdays for me are not so important. As for today, I am going out with my best friend for some outing, followed by watching a movie and then having a small get together in the evening,” Vrushika answered.
And no celebrations with the D3 gang, we asked. “Since I haven’t gone to the sets today, so not today. But we might celebrate my birthday tomorrow on the sets,” the beautiful girl shared.
Would you like to share some fond memories of your birthday celebrations when you were a child? “Oh, those were some really amazing times. And to be honest, I really enjoyed getting gifts as a child and would thus stand on the door waiting for my friends to arrive with gifts. And as soon as I would see the biggest box, I would snatch it and rush inside to check what was inside (laughs). And also the dance we did at birthday parties were fun,” admitted the pretty Vrushika.
That was really cute! So what gifts did you cherish the most? Smilingly she quipped, “I really loved wearing watches and my mother used to gift me a watch every year on my birthday. Soon I got over with wearing them but I still love collecting them and my mom still gives me a watch every year.”
So what is she gifting herself today? “Pyaari si nind (laughs). Seriously, since I hardly get time to sleep, I thought I’ll sleep till late today. My best friend was out of town and as soon as she is here we will be off for some fun,” shared the birthday girl.
And before she could go out to celebrate her birthday, Vrushika said she wanted to thank all her fans for loving her so much. “It’s such a special feeling to be loved so much by all you lovely people. Even though I went off to sleep, you guys continued tweeting for me and wishing me. A big hug to all of you, please continue to give me and our show D3 team all your love, thank you all.”
So wish your favourite girl by commenting below in the comment box.

In conversation with Ashish Golwalkar, Weekend Programming Head, Star Plus

Remember the story of the rabbit and the tortoise! Though the rabbit ran faster, he lost the race as he stopped by to rest while the tortoise won the race trudging the entire path in his own slow speed.
But the Hindi GEC leader Star Plus is firing on all cylinders.
Yes, the channel recently launched Mad in India and Ishq Kills as part of its weekend programming, but they are not stopping to breathe easy.
And the channel’s weekend star is none other than the weekend programming head Ashish Golwalkar.
In a conversation with Media, Ashish spoke about comparisons between Mad in India and Comedy Nights with Kapil and more. Excerpts.
The comparison between Comedy Nights with Kapil and Mad In India has already begun?
Yes, we knew that there would be comparisons, but it’s different. This is a mad show. But we are not against comparison for if the content makes people laugh, the audiences wouldn’t mind watching both the shows. In fact, the number of hours given to comedy as a genre on Hindi GECs is so less that we will fill in the deficit. In fact we feel that if someone else also launches a comedy show, it can co-exist. The best examples are the saas-bahu dramas. We have so many of them, yet they are still co-existing.
Is that why you chose to beam the new comedy show at 9 pm instead of 10 pm to avoid a clash with Comedy Nights?
There is no point in cannibalizing. That’s a great show (Comedy Nights with Kapil) and I am an avid watcher of it. I just feel that we can co-exist and give better entertainment to viewers.
How did you handle the controversies surrounding the star of your show Sunil Grover aka chutki?
That show (Comedy Nights with Kapil) has gone better and better post Sunil’s exit. So, I don’t think his entry in our show has affected anyone.
A similar controversy had engulfed both the channels even after Giaa Maanek’s exit from Saath Nibhana Saathiya. Comments…
Since Saath Nibhana Saathitya is the number three show, even post Giaa’s exit, nothing happened to its popularity. I personally feel that the stars of a show are the writers and not the actors. Hence all these controversies are just uncalled for.
The set of Mad in India is different. Could you throw light on what all went into the making of the set?
Since the creative team wanted to do something different, hence the rotating set. This has never happened in India but in the US, it’s common. We got Omung Kumar on board and shared the idea with him and he loved it. It took about 20-25 days to create the set. The dichotomy that we have here is of the haves and the have nots (first half describes the haves while the other describes the have nots).
We have also seen shows like Ishq Kills on Bindass?
An XYZ show will look similar to another show. Comparisons are bound to happen, no matter what you make. Hence it’s about how fresh your perspective is.

Parmeet gets trapped big time in Bani and Rajji's plans in Colors' Bani Ishq Da Kalma

It’s ‘payback time’ for Bani (Shefali Sharma) in Colors’ Bani Ishq Da Kalma!! The drama over the cops coming home to arrest Parmeet (Gaurav Choudhary) for killing his wife is going on, wherein Parmeet waits with bathed breath for Maya to come in and save him from the police. But little does the guy know that he is actually being trapped into a bigger plan, made by the two sisters Bani and Rajji (Neha Bagga).
There was a time when Bani was deprived of all the rights of a wife.. And now, Parmeet has not only given her the property papers, but will also fill her forhead with sindoor in dramatic style in tonight’s episode.
While the cops will wait inside the house to arrest Parmeet, Parmeet will meet Maya aka Bani outside and will hand over the property papers to her. He will instantly see that Bani has no sindoor, and will fill her forehead with his own blood. This will make Bani very emotional as she had longed for this one defining moment!!
Inside the house, Parmeet would announce to the police that they cannot arrest him on the charge of his wife’s murder as she is very much alive. After a series of interrogations, the police would vanish from the scene. And this would please Parmeet a lot.
However, trouble in the form of Rajji would actually make Parmeet tense. Rajji and Bani would unite to fight this battle with Parmeet, just as Rajji would announce to all that this girl is actually not Bani. Parmeet would be shocked to hear this. However, this would be yet another plan of Bani and Rajji to force Parmeet to come to Gill House where he had been avoiding coming.
Rajji would tell all that the only way to check if this is Bani or not will be to take the girl to Bani’s maayka, that is Gill House and see if her parents can recognise her. This way, they will force Parmeet to come to Bani’s maayka.
We tried calling Gaurav, but he was busy in his shoot.
Watch all the ‘tit for tat’ battle in Bani Ishq Da Kalma.
